Year 3-4 Programme
Our Mother Earth futureFERNS Year 3-4 programme will run the same in 2020 and places emphasis on developing the fundamental movement skills, basic netball skills and a modified version of netball for our growing players. The Mother Earth futureFERNS programme is designed to create a quality first experience to netball in a fun and friendly environment.
Playing Procedures
15 minutes skill session. Play 4 x 8 minutes quarters with 2 minute breaks between each quarter.
A mixed grade for years 3 and 4 is available for smaller schools/clubs who cannot field a full team in the one grade.
Game Structure
The Junior Netball Coordinator and futureFERNS Assistants go over the skills session each week at the Coaches Meeting. The court allocated on the draw for the game is the same court that your skills session is conducted on. The first team listed on the draw collects and returns the portable hoop.
Player Rotation Policy
CNC requires that each player rotates position at least once during each game. For example, this means that a player who starts at ‘C’ must move to ‘D’ or ‘A’ during the game. It is also a requirement that all players in a team play a minimum of half a game each week.
Future Ferns Assistants (Year 3-4 programme)
Future Ferns Assistants are required to assist in running our Mother Earth futureFERNS Programme. Each club/school is asked to provide 1 assistant for every 2 teams entered and full training is provided. For further information please contact Sara on at the above number and email.
